Our company announced in November 2016 we would take strong legal action against rumors, lies and personal attacks used to defame BTS or Big Hit. We'd like to report on the progress to date of the legal complaints.
During the last 2 months, the firm of lawyers of our company has carefully categorized 240,000 testing and materials that we have received. Desacato laws, the law on promotion of use of information and communications, and other articles (with the libel) may apply under current law. We have accumulated complaints against most of the defendants whose criminal offenses have been confirmed.
Starting next week, we will request a formal investigation in the police district through our law firm against those who have caused harm to members of BTS spreading malicious rumors, lies and personal attacks online. In addition, based on the results of the investigation, we will take all available legal resources without reaching agreements.
In the future, Big Hit Entertainment will not pass the behavior of Internet users who consistently and often distort the truth and personally attack the creative work of BTS or their personal lives with malicious intent. We will take strong legal measures without agreements.
